Jaquie leaned her forehead against the cool bars. "How the heck did I end up here?" she whispered.
She had been on the run for several weeks with her imposed guardian Zach since agents from the Aiguille de la Soie had located his safe house in New York. The pair had stopped in a small town near the border between Indiana and Illinois where Zach had arranged to meet with an old friend who was helping to secure new identities so they could leave the country. Jaquie had slipped out while the two talked to stretch her legs and enjoy a few moments of relative normalcy. Her problems started the moment she crossed a street to do a bit of window shopping.
A sheriff's deputy in mirrored shades had pulled up next to her in his cruiser. Stepping out he accused her of jaywalking and when she refused his suggestion of how to "pay off" the fine he slapped her in cuffs, claiming she'd assaulted an officer and resisted arrest. Tossed into the back seat of his cruiser she was t
Doctor Jennifer Wade looked through the microscope. She could see tiny little circles, surrounded by a pinkish substance, which was being absorb into the little dots. The dots shook and expanded, to the delight of the scientist.
“Wow, the cells are responding very well to the new formula!” she thought to herself, before picking up a voice recorder from the table. She pressed the “Rec” button, and began to speak.
“The sample, marked 1110, shows a positive response to the serum. The cells do not seem to put up any resistance to the susbstance and absorb it easily, and the changes seem to be occurring at the DNA level, the effect the serum was hoped to have. I think we are nearing phase two: human experimentation.”
She clicked the button again, and turned to her assistant, who was smiling after hearing what Jen, as she called her, had just recorded.
“I think we did it, Claire!” said Jennifer
Prologue : Aube bleue (Part 2)The gargoyle stood idly by there, and stared at Alice without winking.
He was much taller than the girl, he had to measure 2m or 2m30.
He had dark hair, and his skin had become blue, the same blue as Alice's hair.
The girl was paralyzed by the fear, but she had to find a way to go out of this place.
Slowly, she began to get up, while fixing the gargoyle too.
She stood, motionless, then made one step behind, then another.
The gargoyle didn't move.
Then, Alice turned around and quickly walked towards the staircases, without running nor panicing.
She looked behind her, but she didn't see the gargoyle anymore.
Not understanding what happened, she turned around to continue her road and fell face to face with the gargoyle.
She wanted to shout, but the stony monster seized her at the throat and began to lift her off the ground.
Alice struggled, but the gargoyle was too strong, she could make nothing to release herself.
The alive statue raised the other arm, and Alice noticed with bewilderment
The Costume Competition - p1
I stare at the box before me, anticipation flowing through my veins, making it a challenge to even stand still. I’ve been waiting for this package for nearly two months; and now, the night before Halloween, it finally arrives. Seriously, I’d been wondering whether it’d get here on time for the costume party tomorrow, or if I’d just spent $300 on something that I wouldn’t be able to wear for another year. I’ve really wanted to go to this costume party, partly because everyone I know is going to be there, and secondly because there is a big costume competition; whoever has the best costume receives $500! That’s not something to be ignored. The party is being held at some rich girl’s house on the opposite side of town; I don’t really know her myself, but she’s inviting everyone who goes to the same college as her. That includes me, as well as about 800 or so other people if they choose to. However, now the costume’s here, I
Stretch Doll Part 1 STRETCH AND MOULD
Carla loved seeing the dolls displayed, but was UBER bored with how the tour was going. She wished she could just part off and take a gander at the new models they were making.
"And as you can see, we're in the process of experimenting with a super substance to better show such finer detail in our plastic creations," the guide explained, as above them, a mixer was turning and making the substance fresh, "sadly, we have yet to see if there are any at all effects that leave imprints on our mannequins. But hopefully, you'll be there to see it. now if we move on to see our impressive rubber models..."
Carla just stood there, looking up.
"Wow...to think, that stuff up there makes all those lovely plastic beauties...*sigh* I wish I could see the stuff at work..." she said to herself, looking up, not noticing the tour group moved on. However, across her, a burst of liquid plastic landed in front of a worker passing by, when he slipped and flung the crate to the mixer
Carla's Diary - Part 1Carla's Diary
I am Carla Samson. I'm a girl in college, and I go through the same thing all of the time. I wake up a 6:00. I go to my first class. I got to my second class. Third. Fourth. Go to my dorm. Go to sleep. Believe me, it gets boring. Soon, I didn't even realize I changed classes.
On weekends, however, I'm free. I sit in my dorm and I draw my fantasies. I draw me turning into anyone and anything. I draw myself as a mermaid, a dinosaur, a queen, it's limitless.
Soon, one afternoon, on my way back to my dorm, I found a small box in the sidewalk. I was blue with a pink top. There was something that was like a 2 combination wheels on the side. Over the wheels with numbers were "Seconds, Minutes, Days, Weeks, Months, Years, and Forever."
I took it to my dorm and opened it. It seemed empty. So I figured I would put some of my works in there. When I put the picture of me as a queen, the box started to rumble. Then, a puff of dust popped out. Once it cleared, I realized what had happe
Original Twist Chapter FiveOriginal Twist Chapter five, Experimentation: In which Susan Storm shakes hands and Reed Richards runs some tests.
So as you can see Miss Storm, the Baxter Building is equipped with all the latest, in convinces, and doubtlessly cold serve as a fine apartment complex or... Ive had enough of the ten cent tour, Ill buy it.
Susan really wished that she was wearing sunglasses and some kind of fur, (preferably made from the kind of animal that there werent many left of) as she said those words instead of an ordinary enough looking outfit that carefully concealed the purple jumpsuit beneath.
The people who currently owned the Baxter Building had obviously done some fact checking when shed called them up, but once theyd found that yes she really was legally authorized to act in place of Reed Richards an extremely rich and extremely eccentric genius, they rolled out enough red carpet to mummify an entire ar
